Rare and Excellent "Alaska 24"
This is the first one of this kind I have ever seen - the RCMP had to create a special reference table for it because it has been previously unknown to them. It is marked "Alaska 24" on top of the barrel, and "Patented April 6 1875" on the side. My research indicates it was made by Hood Firearms of Norwich, CT in about 1880 or so. It is in excellent condition, with pristine walnut grips, 95% original nickel plating, case colors on the hammer and trigger, crisp action, properly indexing cylinder. 2 7/8 inch barrel, chambered for the .32 rim fire long cartridge. SN# 4201
